TAISHO PERIOD 大正時代
1912 CE - 1926 CE

Following the Meiji Restoration, the Taisho Period, though essentially a continuation of the aforementioned Meiji Restoration, marks the beginning of modern Japan.

A new interest in medical education was emphasized and Japan's medical knowledge and technology saw growth.

Japan formed alliances in World War I that enabled expansion, which will continue through the Showa Period.  

Japan experienced an economic depression near the end of the Taisho Period.
